Noddy, if anyone on here sounds Biased, it’s becasue we’re biased in favor of science and against, hunches, gut feelings and old wives tales. So much of the health industry has been over-run by the latter and unqualified people who are not edcuating the public very well. A certain portion of any qualified personal trainers day is spent have to separate fact from fiction. We’re going to keep being biased until enough people come to understand the process clearly.

Speaking directly and only about Calories, your body doesn’t distiquish what source the calories came from. A Calorie by defition is a measured unit of energy. ( The amount of heat required to raise 1 liter of water 1 degree at sea level) They come from all food sources. Speakind directly to your specific question,..a calorie is a calorie. Now, if you’re talking about, are there better food sources to get your calories from, because of nutrients or fiber or low saturated fats,…yes.

Calories are calories no matter what the source; liquid or solid…doesn’t matter.

Can you explain if liquid calories are the same as food calories? Explain which is better and what’s the difference.

Alusaint, lastly your diet is not only too low in calories for a training athlete of your size, but it’s got quite a bit of refined carbs and such. If I were on a diet like yours, I’d be hungry and craving all the time as refined sugars and carbs have that effect on people. With calories that low on top of it, you’ll be miserable and you’ll eventually go off your diet. You’re setting yourself up for bingeing. Diet must me ENJOYABLE, or you won’t keep it up for long. Make it enjoyable.

Alusaint, 10 calories per pound isn’t a bad number to go by. If you’re 245, then put your daily calories at about 2400 or 2350. That will take you down about 5 or 10lbs. When you get there, cut your calories again to about 2250. That will take you down to 225. When you get there, cut your calories down to 2100. That will take you down to 210…and so on. You’ll lose weight slowly and lose very little muscle in the process. You’ll feel better, look better, train better and maintain better.

Alusaint, I’m hoping Steve has video demonstration on his site to teach and show specifics. I know he will. So many people with so many good questions. It’s getting tiring writing everything out in these little comment boxes. Some people don’t even come back to get the response. My advice to alot of you girls and guys is spent $10 lousy bucks for one month and go get yourself a
BOAT-LOAD of solid teaching.15 days into it you’ll be able to answer many of your own questions. You’ll see.

Alusaint, you are one of the very few people who actually know what they’re doing.
Let me ask you this, are you planning on implementing resistance training to your cardio at all? If so, how do you think you would change your diet?

hey steve

as soon as i wake up I do 45 minute cardio (turbo jam) then take a shower

then at 9:00 I eat 3 bananas = 375 calories

then at 12:00 eat a serving size bowl cereal = 300 calories

then at 3:00 I eat 1 turkey sandwich = 515 calories

then at 6:00 I eat 1 fruit and grain cereal bar = 170 calories

so in all thats about = 1360 calories in all

is that a good plan to help me lose weight

heres your problem, you need to exercise more, eat healthy, stop putting all that crap in your mind, start putting good things in your mind like joelosteens book, learn to control your thoughts, think positive thoughts on purpose, eliminate negative thoughts on purpose, laugh more, hug more, and then you’ll feel better. your negative health might also be due to a lack of forgiveness in your life. btw this doesn’t happen over night.

02chevy, I hope you come back from time to time and check in with us. You posted where you are now weight and healthwise. Maybe this site and the people on it can provide a little accountability for your program. When your conditioning improves and your weight drops plus all the activity, you’ll probably see some of that depression fade away. A lot of great info on Steve’s site. Use this site and it’s info like a bible. Frankly 02chevy, I’d like to see what you can really do. Anyone else?
